George Pappas, Math Tutor, has more than six years of experience as a math tutor and more than 7 years experience teaching math in middle schools, high schools and college. George has taught Geometry, Algebra I & 2, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, Calculus II and general education math. He has also prepared students for the math portions of the SAT and ACT tests.
Work Experience: George has held the positions of Adjunct Professor of Mathematics and Full Professor of Mathematics at the City Colleges of Chicago. He also taught at the John Handley High School in Virginia. He has worked as a math tutor at the CCB Prep School, Top Rate Tutors, Club Z Tutoring and at the City Colleges of Chicago’s GED classes for adult learners.
Education: George has a M.A. in Mathematics Education from DePaul University and a B.A. in Mathematics from Ohio State University. He completed his Teacher Certification Program at Shenandoah University in Virginia. He also studied Math and French Civilization at the University of Paris.
Things you may not know about your math tutor: George has worked as a professional chef in Virginia and in Greece. He has studied cooking at the Culinary & Hospitality Institute of Chicago and the Thai Orchid Cookery School in Thailand. George is also a certified yoga instructor. He grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago and is fluent in English, Greek and French.
